  This patch changes the some function declaration from K&R style to
default ISO C.

Checked on x86_64, powerpc64, and powerpc32.

This patch is OK (i.e. now, should be committed so that future versions of 
the patch series can be smaller) if you've verified that there are no 
changes to the disassembly of installed shared libraries other than ones 
that can be explained by changing line numbers in assertions.  (If there 
are such differences, they should be understood first.)
