The patch looks good, but I think it depends on some context that we
don't have in Guix:

Right.  That's the next patch (when I get it debugged).

If I were ‘guix lint’ I’d complain about that.  ;-)

What about: “Convert ONC RPC program numbers to addresses”?

Maybe: “The @command{rpcbind} utility is a directory server that convert
ONC RPC program numbers to IP addresses.”

Oh according to Wikipedia "Open Network Computing".  Maybe then I will move this code
out of linux.scm and into onc-rpc.scm

Probably (“ONC RPC” used to be known as “Sun RPC”.)

By “directory server”, I probably meant “directory service”: you lookup
a name (program number), and it gives you a number (IPC address).
