I think “Èdè” means “language”. Can “Yorùbá” really stand on its own?
Thanks,
Florian

I agree with Florian. Google suggests that "Èdè" means "language"
and CLDR confirms that the word "Èdè" is obligatory in Yoruba:
https://st.unicode.org/cldr-apps/v#/yo/Languages_T_Z/
("Èdè" is everywhere including "Yoruba" itself which is near the bottom.)
Akhilesh, for the record: please check what CLDR says about a language.
You need a really good reason to say that CLDR is wrong. But if you
have one then a ticket against CLDR is recommended so they can
verify your source and fix their error. If you find an error in CLDR
and contribute to fixing it then all operating systems will be improved,
not just Linux.
Otherwise, thank you for your involvement. Best regards,
Rafal
